“ Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is in the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.”- Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NKJV)

The Word speaks for itself. Like a tree planted by the waters, spreading out its roots in the rich, wholesome soil by the river…this is where we are when are trust and hope is truly placed in God. Times of heat and dryness will come but we have a near source to draw from. Our leaf will be green and we will not cease from bearing fruit when are roots are sunken deep into His soil.

Trust, obedience, and love are a three stranded cord that will not be broken. When we love, we will trust. When we trust, we will obey. Once we obey, we love more seeing what God works through our obedience. The beginning and end of it is His Love. Trusting God means we will obey Him, because we know His desires and plans are right.

“ There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.”- 1 John 4:18 (NKJV).
We must not be afraid to obey Him. His love that lives in us is enough to cast out every fear and doubt that threatens to rise and restrain us. His love is enough to set us free from fear. That love makes us able and willing to trust and obey ( for there’s no other way! ). He may ask us to pass through fire and water but He has given us the promise that the flames will not scorch us and the floods will not overwhelm us; greatest of all He says, “ I WILL BE WITH YOU.” ( Paraphrased from Isaiah 43:1-2) His name is Immanuel, “ GOD WITH US.” What can we allow to keep us from trusting and obeying Him?

“ O Lord of hosts, Blessed is the man who trusts in You!”- Psalm 84:12 ( NKJV)
