High up above in the sky
were buzzards circling all around
Gathered together in one bunch
and now ready to swoop down

They heard the restless souls below
and one said, it's time to eat
Those souls are about, their ropes end
after being beaten by the heat

Now this is how some people are
when you start having a bit of trouble
And very soon they begin to squawk
when after they add on and double

Then that spirit in them begin to rise
claws reaching for your throat
And although they see, you already wounded
no offer to cover you with a coat

When your down they began to chew
picking on bones, that has gone dry
Like buzzards or rats they don't give up
sad but true, they do try

In their hearts they wonder where's your God
that you talk about so much
Because, they can't see,in what you see
not grasping that your still in touch

Like gathering of vultures they pounce on you
beak mouths flapping and full of doubt
Don't know it's a part of God's plan
to get the victory when he brings you out

They work to try to finish you off
do get pleasure in poking and prying
It's if they haven't heard enough
until they hear you crying

Again the taunts come, where is your God?
that you're always talking about
When they think that you are suffering
and why hasn't he brought you out

They see it's nothing left on the bones
and no more meat left to eat
Still they scratch and claw in all cruelty
seemly never to miss one beat

But like Job, we must be tried,
though it may seem, that God is far away
But we must believe that it's not over
and wait patiently for our day
