You are forever in my arms
and in my precious care
Through the wee, wee hours of the night
just know that I am there

I hold you in the palms of my hands
to keep you safe and calm
For I do know your every need
and I'll be there at dawn

Every hour of the night I see you;
all during the day I am there
No moment escapes before my eyes
for you are in my care

Take it one day, at a time
just rest all through the night
I'm in control, each hour that comes
and eveything will be all right

The Lord is my Shepard and I shall not want
and has told me not to fear
Just cast all my cares on his shoulders
for he is forever near

He does know my joys and each sorrow
also knows every silent tear
So nothing can happen without his knowing
that's why I don't have no fear

He is that light in my window
that switches on when it's dark all around
And he gives me a psalm of comfort
to help me, to sleep sound

O' Lord my heart and soul does thank you
for the angels that you sent by
And I count it all joy to be your child
and forever being on my side
