Walk Like You Have Been With Jesus

One thing the world knows is whether or not members of Christ’s church are walking in consistent with their profession. They judge the church not by what they read in books, and not by what you profess out of your mouth, but by what they see with their own eyes. They see with their own eyes whether or not your walk is consistent with what you professed out of your mouth.

If you cheat on your taxes, your profession means nothing - if you are sexually active, your profession means nothing - if you are an adulterer, your profession means nothing - if you are a continual user of filthy language, your profession means nothing. If you do not value and honor the principles of the faith you profess to have, if you do not believe in them yourself, how can you expect for the world to believe in something you yourself do not value and honor?

• "Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body" (I Corinthians 6:13).


• "He said unto him, Which? Jesus said, You shall do no murder, You shalt not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness" (Matthew 19:18)


• "That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified" (I Thessalonians 4:6).


• "But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth" (Colossians 3:8).

So walk with carefulness and appropriateness being consistent according to the principles and standards of a Christian lifestyle as laid out in the word of God. Be who you are in Christ everywhere you go, even in your dealings with the world in principles of integrity, so that they may not have any reason to reproach the religion you profess.

Do not be a stumbling block to the leading of souls to the cross of salvation because you are trying to keep up with the standards of the world, when they hope to see something different than what they know is already in the world.

We are lights in the world. Be little lights shining bright in the midst of a world infested with darkness, a light that shines with wisdom and intelligence. Walk like you have been with Jesus who has had an effect on you. When we are influenced by other people, we try to walk like them, talk like them, and in some cases, dress like them. We are being transformed by an influence, which can either be a good or bad thing.

But we know that we have Jesus our savior as a good influence to follow after. So let’s imitate him before a world who knows not how to live. Walk carefully and consistently with a motive to win unbelievers to Christ, being ready at every opportunity to witness about Christ, this is wisdom.
