If You Don't Know Ask

Many believers of Christ make claims that the word of God is too hard to understand, that it's too difficult to grasp it's meaning. Rather than making an effort to understand what God is saying to them, some give up, some don't even try, thus making the decision to walk away from the faith to follow error rather than truth - an easier way, rather than the right way.  

It may not always be easy to understanding passages in the bible. But, the apostle James gives us a solution to this challenge. He said "ask". Ask for wisdom to help you in your trials, ask for wisdom when dealing with a difficult person, ask for wisdom and spiritual understanding when studying His word, which was what the Apostle Paul prayed that the church would have - "For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding" (Colossians 1:9).

On many occasions, even the disciples of Christ ask for wisdom in matters they could not comprehend - "Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable. And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding? (Matthew 15:15-16). They didn’t walk away when Christ spoke things they could not understand - they wanted to know. And so they stayed and ask for help that they may understand what was being said to them. When you don't know, ask and it shall be given.  Don't just walk away.

As you faithfully continue to do this, you will not only begin to understand the meaning of God's word, many amazing and profound things will also be made known. But, if after you have at least tried to understand the word of God in your own private study, and are still having difficulty, ask God to lead you to someone He knows He can trust to help.
