RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST: A Credible Witness of Our Savior's Death

Many have questioned Jesus existence, and whether he could have humanly gone through what he endured for the salvation of a lost world. The “Beloved John” personally witnessed the bloody evidence of Jesus crucifixion and death before his own eyes, and by his own testimony confirms that Jesus did die on the cross that day, and that when He died, He died an inhuman death, in a human body.

John's testimony was recorded in biblical history, in hopes that all who would read the story of Christ would believe in His existence, and the sacrifice he made for all man-kind - "That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life, (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us)" (I John 1:1-2).

According to the scriptures, the credibility and validity of John's testimony was recorded as being true. Based on his character and the work he did, John was not a deceiver, nor was he known to be a liar. He suffered and loss many things in his life to follow and record what he saw and experienced with his own hands.

So there would be no reason, after having suffered many toils and danger for the cause of Christ, to turn around and fabricate a story that never took place. For what purpose would it have served?

John was a true gospel evangelist, teacher, witness and writer, whose work and the words of his testimony can be trusted as being valid, credible and accurate information regarding our Savior. What he saw, he wrote - what he experienced, he wrote, all with the hopes that the world would believe in the existence of a Savior, Jesus Christ our Lord, who had come to willingly sacrifice himself for the remission of our sins, so that we may have the opportunity to be re-united with our creator in this world, and to eternally dwell with Him in the heavenly world.

Therefore, he wrote to promote the cause of Christ, to encourage belief in Christ, and to inspire the souls of men to turn to Christ for the salvation of their soul. His work was not about him, but rather all about Christ.

John was the only one of the apostles who wrote of what he saw from the foot of the cross where Jesus hung, and to whom Jesus spoke to just before He finally gave up the ghost - "When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he said unto his mother, Woman, behold your son! Then said he to the disciple, Behold your mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home" (John 19:26-27).

But there was one other thing the “Beloved John” witnessed on that historic day - he witnessed the sacrificial death of a dear friend on Calvary’s cross - "Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends" (John 15:13).
