UNTIL

It’s the one thing that caught my attention while reading Matthew 1:25

“But he had no union with her UNTIL she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.” (the word until in caps is mine)

Matthew is talking about Mary and Joseph, right? Mary is the mother of Jesus and Joseph is His stepfather; right? So, please take notice of the word, “UNTIL”. What does that 5-letter word mean? According to my dictionary, it means “up to that time.”

It means that certain things went on UNTIL and then they changed; for example:

1 – She worked until six pm means she quit work at 6 pm
2 – He read until his guests arrived means he quit reading when his guests arrived

So; does it not stand to reason then that they had no union UNTIL “she gave birth” mean that they did indeed come together after she gave birth? Of course it does. Those who believe otherwise need to take their spiritual heads out of the sand and look at the truth. Mary and Joseph had union after the birth of her first son. It also says “first son” which would imply that there was a second.

In fact the bible names Jesus ‘brothers and even says He had sisters. Matthew 13:55… “Isn’t his mother’s name Mary, and aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas? Aren’t all his sisters with us?” The word all means there were more than one sister and maybe even more than two.

The second chapter of Luke from verse 41 to 51 speaks of Joseph and Mary when Jesus was twelve years old. So, you cannot say that Joseph probably died shortly after Jesus’ birth, which some have done, and in 12 years they could very well have had several children. We know from the scripture above that there were at least six.

That leaves me to wonder why they bother to pray to Mary in this fashion; “Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners…” Holy cow, even the bible fails to refer to Mary as the mother of God. She is always referred to as “the mother of Jesus” (John 1:2 and Acts 1:14 for example).

And to worship Mary is against the very first commandment of God according to Exodus 20:3… “You shall have no other gods before me.” If you worship any person or thing, you are making that person or thing a god. Therefore the worship of Mary is idolatry.

Some people such as preachers, pastors and priests have the audacity to change the word of God to fit their specific agenda. That’s why, in Acts seventeen, Luke says… “they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.”

That is why I urge all of you to EXAMINE THE SCRIPTURES EVERY DAY to see what you are being taught is true.

Don’t take my word for it either. Check the Scriptures I have cited here to make sure I’m right and if you think I’m wrong, please correct me.
