Friendship With The Right People

Friendship are an important part of life. But friendship with the wrong people can have a negative impact on your life, and any plans you are pursuing in life. Therefore, you should use wisdom before connecting yourself with those you are considering for a friendship.  

 Here are some pointers to consider: 

• Connect with people who will be a positive influence in your life, people who are like minded in the same things you are pursuing or have the same goals (Proverbs 27:17).


• Connect with people who you can trust to give you constructive criticism, that can help you to identify what you may be doing wrong, or where you can make improvements.


• Connect with people who will not encourage you to compromise the truth of God's word.


• Connect with people who will make you accountable to accomplishing your goals, because they want you to succeed, and know that you can.


• Connect with people who will partner with you for a time of prayer, when you both can pray for one another, your needs, your concerns, offering praise and giving thanks to the Father (Hebrews 10:24-25, Hebrews 13:15).

But, beware of "pretenders" who will want to befriend you for their own motives, and then dessert you when you are no longer a benefit to them - "For it was not an enemy that reproached me, then I could have borne it: neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me, then I would have hid myself from him: But it was you, a man my equal, my guide, and my acquaintance. We took sweet counsel together, and walked unto the house of God in company" (Proverbs 55:12).
