Sleeping In His Arms Safe And Secured

David was being pursued by an army of enemies who had driven him from his throne, thereby causing him to flee from his home like a wandering fugitive, accompanied by only a few friends. What's worse than all this, is that his enemy was someone from his own household, Absalom his son - "And a man's foes shall be they of his own household" (Matthew 10:36).

But despite David's troubles and the danger he was in, he laid himself down and peacefully slept with no worries. His enemies could have moved in on him at any moment, but he had so much confidence that God had heard his prayers, he slept under the shadow of the almighty's wings, feeling secured from the hands of his enemies.

Under all the anxiety and distress he was under, caused by an ungrateful son, he was able to experience the peace God gives to those, who place total confidence in Him. This was not a thing to be imagined, for when he awoke, he was still safe and secured, in the arms of an Almighty God.

Are you being pursued or attacked by someone close to you, perhaps of your own household? Have you not been able to sleep because of it?

God's word for you today is to trust Him. Trust Him totally, and rest in His arms. You serve a God who never sleeps nor slumbers, so that you can. He watches over His people by day, and during the night hours. He is able to keep you from the hands of your enemies, even those of your own household.

This is one of the greatest things about our heavenly Father. If he sees all things, that means he even sees the things that are done in the dark. He is ever watching over us as we lay gently, safely and secured in his arms. With this confidence we can go to our bed not fearing the violence of the fire, the edge of any sword, the designs of wicked men, or the influence of evil.

Trust Him that as you sleep, He will keep you safe and secured in His arms, covering you with His wings like a blanket, guarding every attack against you.
