Rock bottom, been there, done that, got the emotional scars to prove it. Although it can sometimes be painful to think back on those days, we should never be ashamed of the scars that life has left us with. A scar means the hurt is OVER, the wound is CLOSED, we endured the pain & God has HEALED us. An open wound is so very painful, but when it has healed- celebrate that!!! The scar is there to remind us how strong we are, that we are indeed a warrior, a survivor.

Rock bottom was easily both the worst and best experience of my life. Because, as painful as it was for me to be sitting there, it was in that moment of despair, that I got sick and tired of being sick and tired. It was there that I realized I just could not continue living this life feeling defeated, like life had no hope or purpose. It was there that I cried out to a God I did not know, and I met the One who is responsible for the amazing life I have experienced these last 26 years. It was there that my life was CHANGED forevermore.

For anyone feeling like life has no meaning, let me tell you, you were put here for a purpose, and trust me, your life DEFINITELY has meaning. But, if you are like I was, trying to figure it out on our own just DOES NOT work. Doesn't it make sense, if we want to know why we were created, and what our purpose for being here is, shouldn't we ask the one who created us? The moment I put my faith and trust in God, it was like the scales fell from my eyes, and I could suddenly see clearly. (Acts 9:18) The way I saw things, and most importantly, the way I saw the sin in my own life, completely changed. I had this overwhelming desire to become a better man, and with the help of a patient God, and the love of an amazing women He put in my life, one day at a time my life began to change. Today, I have lived a life beyond my wildest dreams, and that young man who was once so lost and defeated, is just a faint memory. God loves His children and wants nothing more than for us to live a life FILLED with hope and purpose. But we MUST do things His way. May we NEVER forget those treasured words in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” That is EXACTLY what He has given me, and He will give that to EVERY child of His that will simply put their trust in Him.
