Those who are called by God:

Must be true and willing 

They must be loving of God enough to listen-out for His voice

And eager to return in somber mien when they err

Called by God? Are you sure?

That’s why the list started with the likes of:

ABRAHAM, father of ALL, old but nursed his promised child in his centenary birthday

SARAH was an impatient ‘mama’

JACOB supplanter and cheat (later became Israel)

NOAH got off the ark and the first thing he did was, get drunk!

DAVID resorted to murder for a fair dame and had an affair

JONAH took to his heels from his maker trying to HIDE under Heaven

ELIJAH called fire down from heaven but became depressed at the ranting of Jezebel

MOSES a stammerer needed a self-esteem boost

MIRIAM, Moses’ sister choir leader who gossiped up a storm!

GIDEON always unsure and insecure

MARTHA the worrier who did not cease

THOMAS the doubting heart

ZACHEUS the short man with very high ideas

PETER had a temper

PAUL committed murder

LAZARUS was dead and rose again

Why worry? YOU ARE NOT PERFECT!

God calls not those who are already qualified, rather HE QUALIFIES THOSE WHOM HE CALLS !
