Greetings to all;

To continue on our theme from the last post, no other book conceived or published has ever equaled the Bible for accuracy: historical, biographical, moral, archaeological or prophetical. Josh McDowell states this: "Any person sincerely seeking truth would at least consider a book with the above unique qualifications." Evidence that Demands a Verdict.

"The Bible has withstood vicious attacks of its enemies as no other book. Many have tried to burn it, ban it, and outlaw it, from the days of Roman emperors to present-day, Communist-dominated countries." Bernard Ramm, Protestant Christian Evidences, Moody Press, 1967.

"Voltaire, the noted French infidel who died in 1778, said that in 100 years from his time Christianity would be swept from existence and passed into history. What happened? Voltaire has passed into history...the Bible continues to increase in almost all parts of the world. " Sidney Collett, All About the Bible.

Geisler and Nix point out that "only 50 years after Voltaire's death, the Geneva Bible Society used his press and house to produce stacks of Bibles."
How ironic!

The Scriptures themselves say this: (Paul speaking to Timothy) "that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus."

And also: "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." II Timothy 3:15-17.

If you are following these posts, I hope you are beginning to see that the Bible is a force to be reckoned with. Most of all, it is a book of hope for the souls of men and women lost in a meaningless chaotic world living lives of quiet desperation. The Lord God never intended it to be that way. It doesn't have to be that way. Give your life to Christ, and He will make it new and everlastingly beautiful. Until next time, God bless you...Mike
