Faith

For man goes to his eternal home, and the mourners go about the streets. Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit to God who gave it.

Ecclesiastes 12:5, 7 (NIV)

Faith in God that one has never touched or seen makes it easy to hold to the optimistic view that no day is wasted, though it is filled with mistakes, temptations and sins. Faith, like life, is a journey. When the twilight of one’s life arrives and a person is nearer to home, their faith will rule the moment.

Today is yours for one to use; and when it is over—be it good or bad—settle in for the night, sleep peacefully knowing that God and His heavenly host is on the job. At dawn, get up, clothe yourself and move on, trusting, believing, never losing sight of your ultimate destination!

Your livelihood and comforts, large or small; aches and pains, along the way are important, but not nearly as important as the faith that sustains you in your pilgrimage. This confidence makes like purposeful and meaningful!


Prayer:
Almighty Father, strengthen within my heart the faith You have given me;
help me to avoid the deceitfulness of sin.
Place in my soul a thirst for You and Your unconditional love.
I ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son,
Who lives and reigns with You in unity with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
