The Connection Is Important

We are carefully joined together in him, becoming a holy temple for the Lord. Eph. 2:21

It’s striking to know how much thought and attention God has put into joining each one of us together. We build the kind of house for him that he is perfectly happy to live in.

How do we see ourselves and our role in this picture? The connection is important, the ‘joined together’ I mean! It makes up a place that is dedicated to displaying God.

I once visited Chatsworth House, a stately home in Darbyshire (England). It’s where the Duke of Devonshire lives. Do visit the place if you can. It’s one of the most beautiful stately houses in the UK.

I remember walking along the corridors and rooms with my wife, feeling amazed with the beauty the house contained within her walls.

You could see the tremendous care taken in the choice of artifacts. Everything was chosen with thought and attention to make sure it fits the rest of the house and paints an inspiring picture.

I imagine the Duke of Devonshire is very satisfied with his dwelling! He is not only satisfied, but proud of it as to let thousands of people in to see the beauty of his stately home. And why not! Chatsworth House is one of the Treasure Houses of England.

We (you and I), when connected with other Christians, make an even more magnificent palace for the King of kings and Lord of lords. He is so very happy and satisfied because this palace displays His glory and beauty.

And we are the object of His love, in Christ Jesus, in this magnificent picture. We need to keep the connection, despite the challenges it represents. The connection brings satisfaction and joy to the King!
