All The Rest Of My Days
(based on Psalm 18)


The stench of death surrounded me
The flood of guilt and shame made me afraid
The sorrows of hell drew near to me
My ghosts cried “guilty” as they came

I cried out to the Holy one once more
He heard my voice from His throne
Even to His ears did He hear this one so poor
Before Him was my pangs of death made known

Then my whole world was shaken…I trembled
The very foundation of my soul was broken
The foundation of my world was uncovered
Uttering His strong voice…a rebuke was spoken

He thundered down from Heaven
With a blast of His breath…He scattered my enemy
Confronted by death…He revealed His Son
The man they called Christ…from Galilee

He sent His Son from above…He took me
He drew me out of the deep waters
From my ghosts…did He deliver me
To only Him will I build my altars

From them that hate me…He redeemed me
They accused me while I was in misery
He brought me out…He took delight in me
He paid the debt of all my enmity

He armed me to pursue them in battle
I pursued my ghosts and have overtaken them
I did not stop until they were trampled
He wounded them…they will not rise again

Therefore I will forever give thanx to the Lord
Forever will I give Him all glory and praise
For His grace to me did He choose to afford
I will serve only Him…all the rest of my days
