While It Is Called Today

“But encourage one another while it is called today,” says the writer of Hebrews, ” so that no one among you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.” (Hebrews Chapter 3, verse 13) Reading that verse again made me realize that the present will not always be called “today.” This day never was before and never will be again. And these days never were before and never will be again. We are privileged to live in them. While we are in the framework of calling this present “today” where one day follows another as one hour follows another, certain kinds of things can be said and done and realized that can be said or done or realized at no other time. We will not always have these kinds of opportunities. May we live these times called “today” in such a manner as to have no enduring regrets or consequences in times and dispensations to come.
