Jesus said, I say to you who will hear, love your enemies
Do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, He decrees
Pray for those who spitefully use you, those who persecute you
To him who strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other too

From him who takes away your cloak, give him your tunic, as well
From him who takes away your goods, don’t ask for them back, or tell
For if you love those who love you, then what reward have you gained
Don’t even tax collectors and sinners do this, He explained

If you greet your Brethren only, how much different are you
If you only do good to those people, who do good to you
If you lend only to those whom, you hope to receive it back
For even sinners lend to sinners, to receive as much back

Love your enemies, do good, lend, yearn for nothing in return
Let this be your example, that others may certainly learn
Just as you want men to do to you, you do to them, ask why
Your reward will be great, and you will be sons of The Most High

For God Almighty is kind, to the unthankful and evil
Therefore be Merciful, just as your Father is Merciful
Just as I have loved you, you must also love one another
All will know, you’re My Disciples, if you love one another

God commands, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you
Pray for those who spitefully use you, those who persecute you
You shall love your enemies, child of God, whom He has hand-picked
You shall be perfect, as your Father in Heaven is perfect
