Faith
Some people have regular exercise regime, they are the ones that are very principled and focused on the goal that they plan to achieve.
They never miss a day or whatever their timetable says. The benefits of exercise are plenteous and cannot be over emphasized.
I am a great believer in exercising to remain fit especially as the years progress and I want to retain that YOUTHFULL VIGOUR!
I do little doses… meaning that I do not spend hours in a day exercising on rigorous and strenuous, rather I ‘enjoy’ daily jogging on my stepper (and on Saturday mornings too), I do that which benefits my body all over, generally that which keeps me strong .
Brisk walking, running and jogging are good for strengthening breathing among other useful purposes while all other forms of exercise keep our various muscles strong.
I realise that I do not need a cup of coffee to JUMP-START me for a new day because the routine that I have first thing in the morning, keeps my blood circulating well enough to keep me alert and rejuvenated.
Just like physical exercise is important to our living fulfilled lives in the BODY (the vessel that God specifically says that we should care for), SPIRITUAL exercise is as important if not more for us as God’s creation to living well-rounded lives in the SPIRIT, SOUL and BODY!
Regular COMMUNING with our creator opens up the channel that is needed to connect with the spiritual which RULES the physical anyway.
Every Christian who is worth his/her salt needs to adopt A form of exercise that daily allows the ALMIGHTY to speak with them like Moses heard from the Lord regularly on HOW to do practically everything in his life at every moment, he relied on the INSTRUCTIONS that he received from on-high.
Elijah could not have performed ALL the feats that he did without divine instructions.
David! The man after God’s own ‘heart’ was a regular worshipper who sang and played his musical instrument daily as a boy who had the spirit of God in him (albeit often without his knowledge), because how else could he have spoken so boldly and with such effrontery and authority to the GIANT Goliath! He also got CHOSEN as King above his BIG statured brothers!
David the King, though a man troubled often by his flesh connected immediately back with his creator in worship and brokenness ALWAYS (Psalm 51).
Jeremiah had no choice but to do God’s bidding, laid down!
Daniel is the MAN of the hour! Praying many times DAILY even in the face of persecution and death in doing so!
He never forgot his God in captivity (a man who was always CALM in the face of problems and oppression), he continued to trust the GOD of his FATHERS who delivered them from slavery , marginalization and oppression in the land of Egypt, though STILL IN THE PROBLEM HE BELIEVED GOD HAD A PURPOSE AND HE WAS WILLING TO WORK WITH THE LORD TO ACHIEVE THAT PURPOSE.
Being displaced and forced to serve others in foreign lands he never doubted that the ALL MIGHTY still exists and rules the universe and everything that dwells in it. Of course, as we learn from the Bible, it was not in vain! He manifested God‘s supremacy and power in the lion’s den (without his own effort at praying and casting out demons!), he got promotion that was unusual and became well-respected and revered IN THE LAND OF CAPTIVITY.
He had regular communion with his maker that took care of him in the time of need and desperation.
He prayed on AN issue for twenty-one days not giving up but focusing on his GOAL with faith that he would achieve it!
JOB! A honest and upright man as described by GOD Himself , this one never denied that there is a God who made the heavens and the Earth and remains in charge of all things (Psalm ), he talked on end EVEN in severe physical PAIN he never DENIED GOD!
The activity of SPIRITUAL exercise strengthens our spiritual MUSCLES for yet another day.
It takes us to another level in faith, belief and understanding of HE whom we have a relationship with and serve (how can you have a relationship with a ‘person’ and refuse to understand him/her, such a relationship eventually BREAKS DOWN AND BREAKS-UP!)
… Aaron and Hur kept Moses’ arms lifted up when he was weak during war .
(Exodus 17)
And Moses' hands were heavy; then they took a stone, and put [it] under him, and he sat on it; and Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on this side, and one on that side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.
This activity helps us to grow in maturity enough to also help and minister to others in their moment of troubles and weakness
