There exist those moments in life that define a man
The ones that can change your life forever
Most of the time we live inside only questions that seem to present with no clear answers
Who am I?
Why am I here?
What am I meant to do?
Where is my place in this life?

But is it the place we should concern ourselves with or Life itself?
Is it where we are at that is of consequence or where we are going?
You see this place can never provide you with true life
But life can provide you a place
A place in the temporary and the eternal
In the now and in the hope of then
All concerning elements of what to live may truly be
A home that cannot fade

Those moments which seem to define each of us for identity sake
These things we seek can never fulfill us
Will never change us
Only that which we choose to reside in can affect real change
And in that decision and by the oath that bonds us
We are found by what in turn chooses to reside in us

What surrounds us will eventually fade to nothing
But we need not disappear with it
For what awaits us contains no shadows
And night can boast no hold on it

There exist those moments in life that define a man
And choice will be the instruction of its character
In this I choose to be identified by the substance of these moments
The first being the day Christ chose to reveal himself to me
And the moment I decided to surrender
