Too many times we have been sending away rather than embracing sinners into the Church. We think that after we got saved, God shut the doors and no one else deserves that grace.

Like Jonah, (Jonah 1:1-4) I have been on the run for too long. God is merciful and when ‘my Ninevites’ repent He does not destroy them (Jonah 2:10). I may have been greatly displeased by this (Jonah 4:1) but really, have I not committed worse sins than you have and now I have a new life – in Christ?

My dear Pre-Saved Friend, do not be intimidated by the attitude of some ‘been-saved-longer-than-you-and-I’m-so-special’ believers. The truth of the matter is this: God wants to save you and He is not asking them whether you deserve His salvation or not. Surely, if God can save my life then He can save yours too.

Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners-of whom I am the worst. – 1Timothy 1:15
