A NIGHT TO FORGET

The ocean is full of humans, people clutching anything that floats. For some it is an addiction, for others anger, hurt or apathy. The water is cold

As far as the eye can see in the dark, clusters of people are fighting to stay afloat, while various ships are around. The waves are high.

The USS Southern Baptist, USS Latter Day Saints, R91Catholic, SMS Lutheran, HMS Methodist and many others are there. The hour is late.

The naval officers are busy studying to get more education; the ships are soliciting better equipment from their navies. People are drowning.

Every now and then, with great fan-fare, a ladder is let down and 1 or 2 people are pulled from the water. There is much rejoicing.

But most of the ships are focused on-board. The crews seek cutting edge technology and fulfilling entertainment. The captains want training.

Not many people scream for help, most are numb and a few are frozen. Others are mesmerized by the waves. The night is dark.

Almost all ships offer advanced training in various classes for greater efficiency in water rescue. But most of the people in the water slowly drown...

Maybe it is time to focus outside the ship, rather than inside. More people are drowning outside, in the water. Just saying.
