  Satan, the dictator of devils as he has been called, has different and various ways of deceiving that seem to bear no resemblance to each other. (Dictators throughout history are surprisingly and monotonously alike, while saints are highly diverse, it has ben said) For example, one way is to encourage those so inclined not to believe that he exists at all, because, after all, we can't see him with the natural human eye.  His feelings aren't hurt at all.
 If that approach doesn't seem to fit the individual, and there is more awareness of the unseen spiritual realm, he may turn to the other extreme to encourage the dualistic belief that he is that equal and opposite dark power that rivals the power of light and goodness. This is as far afield from the truth as is the belief that he doesn't exist, bacause in actual fact he has been created by the God who is light and goodness and couldn't exist or function at all except that God preserve his existence from moment to moment, as God preserves the moment to moment existence of we creatures called human beings. Consider for a moment how in the Book of Revelations it takes only one angel to bind and dispose of him for a thousand years! (Chapter 20)
  It has also been aptly said that the path of truth is bordered by ditches on either side, and also that error comes into the world in pairs. Two errors about the dictator of devils, errors that have gone out and circulate widely and circle the globe are these two then:
1) that he doesn't exist at all but is a mere superstition of ignorant folk;
2) or if that doesn't convince one, then that he is the dark and equal, evil counterpart of God, equally powerful.
Each of these fraternal twin errors mentioned above are ditches into which the unsuspecting may fall, giving our adversary an advantage, if we are not careful to warn ourselves as we go.
