Mark 1:40-42 "A man with leprosy came and knelt in front of Jesus, begging to be healed. "If you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean," he said. Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out and touched him. "I am willing," he said. "Be healed!" Instantly the leprosy disappeared, and the man was healed."

People avoided those who had the disease of leprosy. They were pretty much separated from everybody else, living more of an isolated life. However, in this passage we see this man coming to the feet of Jesus with faith and desire. He knew his problem, but he also knew that God was able to help him out with it. He believed even before God would grant his request, that God can. Many times we come to God in prayer, not knowing what really to pray for. At times our mind, heart and desire are somewhere else. Sometimes we are not just blank-minded but blank-hearted. But like this sick man who believed well, his mind was where it needed to be: on God. His heart was where it needed to be: on God. But he also had that strong desire to become better in his heart. He was determined to do whatever it takes to receive his blessing from God even if he had to beg before Jesus. Now Jesus does the unthinkable. Not when he spoke close in front of him, but when he reached out to touch this man. Such action, no one would ever do with a person with such disease. You got to understand how people avoided lepers, better yet talk to them really. But now you see Jesus focused on this man, speaking to him, and now touching him. That's amazing.
God's heart is seen in this passage because that is how God is with us. This is how he think about us. This is how he feels about us. Jesus had great compassion for this man, and he understood what he was going through. He knew this man had a hard life, and had been going through a hard time. Jesus was pleased to see this man come to him. What pleased Jesus even more wasn't the fact that the man knelt before him, but that he believed in him. Many times we come to God, but we don't have a firm faith that God will do as he says. At times we come to him with great doubt. And we wonder why some of our prayers are not answered. We also wonder why some things in our life aren't going so good. Don't you think if we came to God persistently with the right attitude, faith, and desire, he would answer? God will answer us like he did with this man. God does care about us and he does know what we are facing in life. God is willing to help, but are we willing to truly trust him? Are we willing to do whatever it takes? If we are, get ready because change is around the corner
