CONFUSED CHRIST
Yes, He got a little carried away there in the parable of the sheep and the goats. Spoke from the hip!
Maybe He didn’t get enough sleep the night before or He went too long without food. Was a bit extreme!
Christ actually said to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, and to take in the stranger – yes He did.
Furthermore, He said to clothe the poor and to visit the ones in prison or in the hospital, of all things!
Surely Jesus was only talking about helping the “worthy” poor and unfortunate – not the manipulators.
Christ truly wouldn’t expect us to feed people on the side of the road or to go see folks who are criminals. No He wouldn’t.
Jesus wouldn’t want us to give clothes to or to house anyone who was not upright like we think we are – would He?
I mean, these people got themselves into their messes, why should we come and bail them out, it would only reward them.
Just because Jesus came to earth and rescued humanity, most of whom ignore His great gift, doesn’t mean we should be so unselfish.
No, Christ was just speaking before He reflected; He didn’t mean it literally. We would have to get out of our comfort zone.
We would have to live to serve others rather than ourselves, surely Christ was just a little confused that day...or was He?
