HOW CHILDREN SEE THEMSELVES

One of the biggest things that parents pass on to their children is the sense of who they are and how they see themselves.

Some children are continually told they are dumb, stupid or will never amount to anything – what tragic programming.

Others are over-encouraged; thinking all the universe revolves around them and everything should go their way - always.

Hopefully kids are not indoctrinated to constantly feel condemned, guilty or ashamed – what a waste of a life.

We desire children to have some idea what their skills are and maybe to also know some of their weaknesses.

Every child should realize that most success comes from a combination of integrity, hard work and providence.

No one is guaranteed anything, no one has something by right, and hard work beats ability everyday.

The greatest gift parents can pass on to their offspring is to be able to see themselves realistically and also compassionately.

Most any obstacle can be conquered with love and practical expectations, blessed are the parents who can give that.
