When You Are Dealt Setbacks

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.

Joshua 1:9 (NIV)


When you are dealt setbacks, your success requires you get up just one more time to fight again!

This is life—having setbacks to come your way to knock you down, disturb your train of thought, get you off course, question who you are. If you quit, decide to stay down, look for someone or some thing to blame, you deserve where you are and the circumstance you are in. Additionally, you will miss out on a life you could have had or might have had. But you will never know until you get up and try again!

Setbacks may be: a harsh word that hurt you deeply; a car accident destroying your transportation; being fired from a good paying job; very bad health; the death of a loved one; being accused of acts you never; hated because you told the truth.

Whatever setbacks fells you, get up! If it throws you off balance, regain your balance and get back into the struggle! Outlast the blows—that is the secret of victory!

It is difficult! But it is much more difficult to be a loser and wonder: “What if?”


Prayer:

Almighty God and Father, I boldly come before You not to request the things of this world but for the wisdom and strength I need to endure this setback, to rise up and go forward in a way that brings glory to Your Most Holy Name. This I pray. Amen.
