I Corinthians 10:13 (NIV) “No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.”

“I am only human!” I want to scream every time I hear a Christian use this excuse when we give in to temptation and ultimately sin. STOP!! We are Christians not “human”; we have been born again; made into something new (2 Corinthians 5:17), a Christian. We have been cleansed of all sin by the blood of Jesus Christ (I John 1:7). Not just some sin, but all sin; past, present, and future sin (Micah 7:19). Our attitude as to who we are in Christ needs adjusted if we continue to respond “I am only human.”

Shout it from the mountain tops, “I am Christian!” Does this mean that we will never stumble and fall? Luke 17:1 says “…things that cause people to stumble are bound to come…” As we shout “I am Christian” the devil is also listening and the temptations come even more vigorously; the devil wants to separate us from God. He begins not with a temptation, but with an Attitude Adjustment of his own; he convinces us that “I am only human!” Shout “I am Christian” change your attitude. Know that “God is faithful; He will not let me be tempted beyond what I can bear.” Yes we are going to stumble and fall, but do it with dignity; do it as you shout, “I am Christian.” Bounce up, dust yourself off, and thank God for His faithfulness.
