Mark 1:31 "So he went to her bedside, took her by the hand, and helped her sit up. Then the fever left her, and she prepared a meal for them."
For many, they would not think so much of this fever as compared to other miracles and healings that Jesus performed. However, its not about the size or type of problem, but the fact that the problem has been eliminated. Its because of these problems and obstacles in life that holds us back and slows us down. This woman was in bed because of this fever, but her encounter with Jesus brought her back to her feet. Can you imagine the scene? Being in her place on the sick bed? It sure wasn't the best place to be, but she sure was at God's next miracle seat.
To feel drowsy, cold, and weak. To be in a bed, not because you want to but because you got to. Then after a hard day from not doing much but rest to recover, in comes Jesus. Her tired eyes shut from the long day, until an unusual voice catches her ears. So she turns her head slowly toward the voice and slowly opens her eyes. At her surprised, is this man who is looking at her with great joy and love. Her head follows him as he comes toward the edge of her bed, and he extended his hand toward hers. As weak as she may have felt, she slowly stretched her hand toward this man Jesus. At that same moment as he helped her sit up, everything vanished. Her strength was restored, her eyes completely opened, coldness and sweat gone. In other words, her fever was present no more. A complete smile she is now able to give in return to Jesus, but that wasn't it. She got up and went to prepare a meal for him in return. Not because she had to but because she felt it in her heart to do so. After the good she had received, she was encouraged to do good as well. To be the mother of the house, especially having a guest come over, a meal is great to offer. However, since she was sick before Jesus healed her, she wasn't able to. But now that she's restored, she was able to with great pleasure and gratitude.
I'm sure God has done countless great things in your life, blessing you everyday right. what are you doing for him in return today?
