If ever there was a reason for holy anger and a call for God’s wrath, it is now. God’s mercy is so great but his tolerance level is not revealed by the time it takes to fulfill his sovereignty. Rest assured that this country will pay for its wrong-doing and rebellion against God.
This country has wandered from being a great country with a mighty purpose and a country to be feared to being prideful about itself and feeling that to prove how powerful it is alone it no longer needs God.
It started with being so proud of our public school system that we didn’t need God to help us teach children anymore.
Prayer in school was banned, Bibles were forbidden and God was unheard of (other than a slang word). When god was no longer a part of the school days, our kids began to change and our wonderful public school systems began to fail, yes fail.
Guns took the place of Bibles and funerals took the place of prayer meetings.
Still in our school remained one tiny trace of God…the pledge of allegiance. One simple line that we more than owed God was then debated to be ‘unconstitutional’. In strong arrogance and straight rebellion this country looked God ‘in the eye’ and said, we don’t need you anymore. With haughtiness, selections of our government argued that we are not a ‘nation under God’.
However, the term ‘unconstitutional’ is the greatest possible choice of wording they could have picked to make themselves appear as knowing nothing about this country’s constitution.
God is written all over the constitution. God is the foundation of this country. If not for God, the United States would not exist to be the beautiful, ‘land of the free and the home of the brave’ that we have grown to love and the world has grown to respect.
It was the simple people who wanted to worship the Christ that made this country. It was the Christians who fought and bled and prayed for the fifty stars and thirteen stripes. It was Christians who pledged the first pledge to our flag. It was Christians who pronounced that it is in God we trust, and it was simple Christians who drew up and signed the Bill of Rights for our country. It was Christians who founded this country and it was God who led them. No unbeliever has the call to declare any part of our pledge or any simple notice of God as ‘unconstitutional’.
This country was created by Christians, non-Christians are welcomed in it and a part of it but they cannot change the foundation to their approval. It is said that Patrick Henry once stated, "It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists but by Christians, not on religions but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ".
This is God’s land and it is in God we trust. Not only when a national disaster occurs but also when we parade in victory.

Abigail, nicely said. Unfortunately Christians are also buying into the separation of God and State. There is NO SEPERATION of God in any parts of our lives except those areas we intentionally leave Him out of. (This was a little hard to read for these old eyes without paragraph spacing, though.) Thanks for sharing with us. Much love!
