Well, here it is...church workday. And where are all those workers who said they'd be here? The same few people are here that always come.

All of a sudden people began to make excuses. They had to buy groceries. It's the only day they have to work in the yard. The children have ball games. We're going to visit our old aunt. You begin to feel frustrated, betrayed and angry. So much work and so few workers. Whoosh! Your joy just blew right out of you. Has something like that ever happened to you?

God's Word says, "Do ALL things as unto the Lord..." It doesn't matter, dear one, if you are the only one on the job. Do it with gusto. If the "Supervisor" is pleased, you should be ecstatic. "Winning the smile of God brings its delight". You will get your "Atta-boy"...in this case it will sound like, "well done thou good and faithful servant."

I learned many years ago how satan could rob me of my joy in serving the Lord. All I had to do was look around, find others who weren't doing what I thought they should, and gripe about it. Whoosh! There went my joy and my reward. Quite frankly what others do is between them and God. It's really none of my business. That not a very spiritual statement. But it is, nevertheless, true.

Beloved, stop looking over your shoulder at what others do (or don't do) and enjoy all that you do "as unto the Lord". What a journey it will be.

I thank God for the opportunity of service to and for Him. If I wash a dish I pray it is clean enough to serve Him supper. If I make a bed, may it be comfortable enough for Him to sleep in. If I sweep a floor, may it be clean enough to receive Him as a guest.

Help me Lord to do ALL things as unto you.
