If we in the body of Christ do not set forth guidelines from the Bible for our young people, then I feel that we are really letting them down on a very important issue. Those guidelines were put there for their good, that they might have a much happier and healthier lifestyle. It’s there to help them through these times, when the world is telling them that it is okay to be promiscuous as long as they use protection. Yet God in His word is very plainly telling them that it is not okay.

This is one subject in the Bible where there are no shades of grey. For the Bible speaks out very clearly on the matter of immorality. Letting us know beyond a shadow of a doubt what God’s views are regarding this highly controversial subject. So the best way to know and understand God’s heart, concerning this, is to look at what His word has to say about it!

1 Corinthians 6:18—Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. (19) Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? (20) For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

When we don’t heed these words and do not take them to heart, then we are opening up the door for all kinds of harm to come to the body. YOUNG PEOPLE should know and BE WARNED as to what they are opening themselves up to, when they go against God’s principles. These principles are not put there to suppress young people or to keep them from having fun, but just the opposite. They are put there to hopefully, help keep them from heartbreak, due to venereal disease, unwanted pregnancies, shame and demeaning of character. Once the door is opened to these heartbreaking things, there is no easy way of closing it! Some may seem to get away with it for awhile, yet you reap what you sow. (Galatians 6:7—Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. (8) For HE WHO SOWS to HIS FLESH will of the flesh REAP CORRUPTION, but he WHO SOWS to THE SPIRIT will of the Spirit reap EVERLASTING LIFE. It is like planting a garden! You do not plant your seed one day, and go out and reap your harvest the next day. It takes time for what you have let into your body to take root and grow and to produce its harvest!

These next Scriptures will point out what is pleasing to God, and how he wants not only the young people, but all of us to walk. 1 Thessalonians 4:1—Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you OUGHT to WALK and to PLEASE GOD; (2) for you know what commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus. (3) For THIS IS the WILL of GOD, your SANCTIFICATION: that you should ABSTAIN from SEXUAL IMMORALITY; (4) That you should know how to possess his own vessel IN SANCTIFICATION and HONOR, (5) not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God; (6) that NO ONE should TAKE ADVANTAGE of and DEFRAUD his brother IN THIS MATTER, because THE LORD IS THE AVENGER OF ALL SUCH, as we also forewarned you and testified. (7) For God did not call us TO UNCLEANNESS, but in HOLINESS. (8) Therefore he who rejects this DOES NOT REJECT MAN, but GOD, who has also given us His Holy Spirit. (9) But concerning brotherly love you have no need that I should write to you, for you yourselves are TAUGHT by GOD to LOVE ONE ANOTHER;

Now looking very carefully at those Scriptures above, we will see that this is a very serious issue, which must not be taken lightly BY ANYONE. Also, it is important to note that there is a very SERIOUS WARNING to those WHO MISLEAD other’s REGARDING THIS. We know of one institution especially, which has been very misleading to young people and eager to help them to go contrary to God’s law, when it comes to sexual guidance. Also the schools have played a shameful role in setting out any guidelines to help young people in the right way. They have only added to the fire by teaching those things that morally, they have no right to teach and yet have been able to get away with it. I just heard on Fox News not too long ago something very perverted that they are now teaching in the schools in France to help cut down on teen-age pregnancy. I will not even mention the lewd act I will however say, just remember former President Clinton, and his shameful acts in the White House! Unbelievable!

There is a very positive side to this too! God want’s to bless young people, and to enable them through His Spirit to become the very best that they can. He wants to teach them the right way to do things so that He may be glorified. He is wants to use them for His glory to be a blessing to others. How can He do this when they are walking in disobedience to Him. Amos 3:3—Can two walk together, unless they are agreed? God wants to walk with the young people today and I believe that He is going to start taking issue very soon, with all who are leading them astray.

Young people will find no one who loves them more, no one has done more for them, than our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He suffered and died for them, so that they could have an abundant life through Him. The thing that He is asking in return is for their love, and their obedience. When they turn to Him in sincerity, and ask Him into their lives, He then will begin to do all the hard work for them, by actually turning their desires to the things that He knows is profitable and helpful for them. He will bring them out from under these worldly desires, if they sincerely desire to be brought out. He will give them a brand new life, even if they have been caught up into these things, and have gotten their lives really messed up.

I believe that GOD HAS A CALLING FOR YOUNG PEOPLE TODAY such as we read in 2Corin. 6:17—Therefore COME OUT from among them AND BE SEPARATE, SAYS THE Lord. “DO NOT TOUCH WHAT IS UNLEAN, AND I WILL RECEIVE YOU.” (18) I will be a Father to you, and you shall be MY SONS and DAUGHTERS, Says the Lord Almighty.

Here are the intentions of God’s heart for those who will cling to Him, and not to the ways of the world! Jeremiah 13:11—For as the sash clings to the waist of a man, so I have caused the whole house of Judah (Christ arose from Judah) to CLING TO ME, says the Lord, THAT THEY MAY BECOME MY PEOPLE, FOR RENOWN, FOR PRAISE, AND FOR GLORY.

So God is offering you, a far better deal than going the way of the world, and perhaps enjoying sin for a season. He is offering to make something praiseworthy and glorious out of your lives. Who knows, perhaps even to make you famous? The word renowned means, just that, famous! And not just for a season but forever!
