I believe that in very careful study of the creation story, you will find that there are distinct differences, between Chapters one and two! In fact the distinctions are almost as different as night and day. Chapter one starts out, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Throughout this whole Chapter GOD is always used in the singular form. Chapter two verse four, “This is THE HISTORY of the heavens and the earth when they were created, IN THE DAY that THE LORD GOD made the earth and the heavens. In this Chapter the term, “THE LORD GOD,” is always used in the plural. Thus making one definite distinction right here.

The second distinction is in verse one of Chapter one, “In the beginning God created THE HEAVENS and THE EARTH. In Chapter two verse four, ‘This is THE HISTORY of the heavens and the earth when they were created, IN THE DAY that the Lord God made THE EARTH and THE HEAVENS. Chapter one says, “The heavens and the earth,” Chapter two says, “The earth and the heavens.”

In Chapter one we have a breakdown of the days, which tells us what day God created certain things. In Chapter two, we do not have this, it just says, “IN THE DAY,” that the LORD GOD made the earth and the heavens. We have no breakdown of time here except, now in this point of time, we know that with God, “Do not forget this one thing, that with THE LORD ONE DAY is as A THOUSAND YEARS, and A THOUSAND YEARS AS ONE DAY. (2 Peter 3:8) So this would certainly put a crimp in anyone’s theory, who would try to fit the creation story into some kind of time frame.

Now let’s get into the actual creation itself! Starting with DAY ONE: Genesis 1:2—the earth was WITHOUT FORM, and VOID; and DARKNESS was on the face of THE DEEP, and the Spirit of God was hovering over THE FACE OF THE WATERS. (3) Then God said, “LET THERE BE LIGHT AND THERE WAS LIGHT.” (4) And God saw the light that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness, (5) God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So THE EVENING and THE MORNING were THE FIRST DAY.

Genesis 1:6—Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst OF THE WATERS, and let it divide THE WATERS from THE WATERS, (7) Thus God made the firmament, and DIVIDED THE WATERS which were UNDER THE FIRMAMENT from THE WATERS which were ABOVE THE FIRMAMENT; and it was so. (8) And God called THE FIRMAMENT HEAVEN, so THE EVENING and THE MORNING were THE SECOND DAY. (9) Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens BE GATHERED TOGETHER INTO ONE PLACE, and “let the DRY LAND APPEAR,” and it was so, (10) and God called THE DRY LAND EARTH, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good. (11) Then God said, “LET THE EARTH BRING FORTH GRASS, the herb that yields seed, and THE FRUIT TREE THAT YEILDS FRUIT according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth;” and it was so. And this was accounted as THE THIRD DAY.

Now let’s see what it say’s in Chapter two verse five, “BEFORE ANY PLANT of THE FIELD was IN THE EARTH and before any herb of the field had grown. For THE LORD GOD had NOT CAUSED IT TO RAIN ON THE EARTH. (In chapter one verse one, the Spirit of God was hovering over the face OF THE WATERS. In verse nine it says, “Then God said, ‘Let the waters under the heavens be GATHERED TOGETHER INTO ONE PLACE, and let THE DRY LAND APPEAR;”) Returning to Chapter two verse 5-- and there WAS NO MAN to till the ground; (6) but A MIST went UP from THE EARTH and WATERED THE WHOLE FACE OF THE GROUND. I find it interesting that the mist went up from the earth instead of coming down from the heavens.

It is interesting to note in Chapter one God created the trees etc, before creating man. In Chapter two, the man was created before the vegetation. In Chapter one of Genesis we find that on the FOURTH DAY, “Then God said, ‘Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide THE DAY from THE NIGHT; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; (15) and let them be FOR LIGHTS in the firmament of THE HEAVENS to GIVE LIGHT on the earth;” and it was so. (16) Then God made TWO GREAT LIGHTS the GREATER LIGHT to RULE THE DAY, and THE LESSER LIGHT to RULE THE NIGHT. He made the stars also, and this is counted as the fourth day.

What LIGHT then was God creating on the FIRST DAY of Chapter one, as THE SPIRIT of God hovered over THE FACE OF THE WATERS and said, ‘LET THERE BE LIGHT?” That was on a totally different day then this fourth day when He created the stars etc.

Okay, let’s finish up Chapter one before moving on to Chapter two! Verse twenty, “Then God said, “let THE WATERS abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens.” If you notice, God STILL HAS NOT AS YET CREATED MAN. (21) So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. (22) And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and FILL THE WATERS IN THE SEAS, and let birds multiply on the earth. (23) So the evening and the morning were THE FIFTH day. (24) Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind” and it was so. (25) And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. (26) THEN God said, “LET US MAKE MAN IN OUR IMAGE, according TO OUR LIKENESS; let them HAVE DOMINION (World Book Encyclopedia Dict. DOMINION; Supreme AUTHORITY; rule, control;)

It is interesting to look at this in the light of John 17:1—Father, the hour has come. GLORIFY Your Son, that Your Son may also GLORIFY YOU. (2) As You HAVE GIVEN HIM AUTHORITY OVER ALL FLESH, that He should give ETERNAL LIFE to as many (ALL) as You have GIVEN HIM. (3) “And THIS IS ETERNAL LIFE that they MAY KNOW YOU, the ONLY TRUE GOD, and Jesus Christ whom You HAVE SENT.)

Now let’s look at this in THE LIGHT of Hebrews 8:11—(The New Covenant.) “NONE of them SHALL TEACH HIS NEIGHBOR and NONE his BROTHER, saying, “KNOW THE LORD, FOR ALL SHALL KNOW ME, from the least of them to the greatest of them. (12) “For I will BE MERCIFUL to their unrighteousness, AND THEIR SINS and THEIR LAWLESS DEEDS I WILL REMEMBER NO MORE. That sounds almost like the ministry of reconciliation when looking at it in the light of 2 Corin. 5:18—Now all things ARE OF GOD, who has RECONCILED us TO HIMSELF THROUGH JESUS CHRIST and has GIVEN TO US THE MINISTRY of RECONCILIATION, (19) that is, THAT GOD WAS IN CHRIST RECONCILING THE WORLD to Himself, NOT IMPUTING THEIR TRESPASSES TO THEM, and has committed to us THE WORD OF RECONCILIATION. Returning to Genesis 1:28—Let them have dominion over THE FISH of the sea, over THE BIRDS of the air, and over THE CATTLE……OVER ALL THE EARTH….and over EVERY CREEPING THING that creeps on the earth.

(27) So God created man in His own image; IN THE IMAGE of God HE CREATED HIM; male and female HE CREATED THEM. (So this would certainly put to rest any body trying to claim that God was in fact a woman, (smile) for it says, in the image of God He created HIM; male and FEMALE He created THEM.) (28) Then God blessed them, and God said to them, ‘BE FRUITFUL and MULTIPLY; FILL THE EARTH and SUBDUE IT;

To SUBDUE according to the dictionary means; to conquer, overcome by superior force; to get the better of, prevail; to gain control over. So in this first Chapter man is told to have dominion, and to subdue the earth. That is where Christ comes in, for it is through Him that this becomes entirely possible.

Let’s look at some Scriptures which just may shed some light on this! Hebrews 1:1—God, who at various times and in different ways spoke IN TIME PAST to the fathers BY THE PROPHETS, (2) has IN THESE LAST DAYS spoken to us BY HIS SON, whom HE HAS APPOINTED HEIR OF ALL THINGS, THROUGH WHOM ALSO HE MADE THE WORLDS; (3) Who being the brightness of His glory and THE EXPRESS IMAGE of HIS PERSON, and UPHOLDING ALL THINGS by THE WORD of HIS POWER, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty ON HIGH, having become so much better than the angels, as He has BY INHERITANCE obtained a more excellent name than they. (5) For to which of the angels did He ever say: You are My Son, TODAY I HAVE BEGOTTEN YOU?” (That second Psalm goes on to read, “Today I have begotten You, Ask of Me and I will give You the nations for YOUR INHERITANCE, and THE ENDS of THE EARTH for YOUR POSSESSION.) We also learned from the previous Scriptures, that Jesus is THE EXPRESS IMAGE OF GOD. John 1:14—And THE WORD became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld HIS GLORY, the glory as of THE ONLY BEGOTTEN OF THE FATHER.)

Returning to Genesis 1:28—Then God blessed them, and God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and SUBDUE it; have DOMINION over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over EVERY LIVING THING THAT MOVES ON THE EARTH.’ (29) And God said, “SEE I HAVE GIVEN YOU EVERY HERB that yields seed which is on the face of ALL THE EARTH, and EVERY TREE whose fruit yields seed: to you it shall be for food,” and it was so. And this was the sixth day. Chapter two verse one, Thus THE HEAVENS and THE EARTH and ALL THE HOST of them, WERE FINISHED. And on the SEVENTH DAY God ENDED HIS WORK which He had done. (3) Then God BLESSED the SEVENTH DAY and SANCTIFIED IT, because IN IT HE RESTED FROM ALL HIS WORK which GOD had CREATED and MADE.

I believe Chapter one is represented by this, “Isaiah 46:9—Remember the former things of old, for I am God and THERE IS NO OTHER, I am God, and there is none like Me, (10) DECLARING THE END FROM THE BEGINNING, and from ancient times THINGS THAT ARE NOT YET DONE.

Now notice there is no tempter in Chapter one, neither is there A FORBIDDEN TREE of which they were told they could not eat. Because in verse twenty-nine it says, “And EVERY TREE whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be FOR FOOD.

Now let’s look at the order of the history of creation in the day that the LORD GOD created it! Male and female were THE LAST to be created in Chapter one, and MALE THE FIRST to be created in Chapter two. Genesis 2:5—before any plant of the field was in the earth and before any herb of the field had grown. For the Lord God HAD NOT CAUSED IT TO RAIN on the earth, and there was NO MAN to TILL THE GROUND; That is when the LORD GOD formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils THE BREATH OF LIFE; and man became A LIVING BEING.

1 Corinthians 15:46—And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a LIVING BEING,” The last Adam became a LIFE-GIVING SPIRIT. (46) However, THE SPIRITUAL is NOT FIRST, but THE NATURAL, and AFTERWARD THE SPIRITUAL. 1 Corinthians 2:14—But THE NATURAL man DOES NOT receive the things OF THE SPIRIT of God, for they are FOOLISHNESS to him, NOR can HE KNOW THEM, because they ARE SPIRITUALLY DISCERNED. (12) Now we have RECEIVED NOT the SPIRIT of THE WORLD….1 John 2:15—Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. (16) FOR ALL that is IN THE WORLD, THE LUST of THE FLESH, THE LUST of THE EYES, and THE PRIDE of LIFE—is NOT of the Father but is OF the WORLD. (17) And the world is passing away, AND THE LUST of it, but he who DOES THE WILL of GOD ABIDES FOREVER.

Now let’s look at this in the light of what we just read! Isaiah 64:4—For SINCE THE BEGINNING of THE WORLD men HAVE NOT HEARD nor perceived by THE EAR, NOR HAS THE EYE SEEN any God beside You, WHO ACTS for the one WHO WAITS for Him. (5) You MEET HIM WHO REJOICES and DOES RIGHTEOUSNESS, who REMEMBERS YOU in YOUR WAYS. Psalm 25:0—The humble He guides in justice, and the humble He teaches HIS WAY. (10) ALL THE PATHS of the Lord are MERCY and TRUTH, to such as keep His covenant and His testimonies. (12) Who is the man that fears the Lord? Him shall He teach IN THE WAY HE CHOOSES. (13) He himself shall dwell in prosperity, and HIS DESCENDANTS SHALL INHERIT the EARTH. (Psalm 2:8—Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for YOUR INHRITANCE, and the ends of the earth for YOUR POSSESSION.

Returning to Genesis 2:8—“The LORD GOD planted A GARDEN EASTWARD in EDEN, and there He put the man whom He had formed. (One definition of form is to mold by discipline; educate) Then in verse nine we see that, “out of the ground the LORD GOD made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. THE TREE of LIFE was also in THE MIDST of THE GARDEN, and THE TREE of the KNOWLEDGEGE of GOOD and EVIL. Now in verse five we are told that God had not caused it to rain on the earth, but that a mist went UP from the earth and watered THE WHOLE FACE OF THE GROUND; In Chapter one we read that GOD had to gather the waters together into one place to let the DRY LAND APPEAR. (Gen. 1:9) There was however, a river that went out of Eden.

Verse fifteen, Then the LORD GOD took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. (16) And the LORD GOD COMMANDED the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may FREELY EAT; (17) “but of THE TREE of THE KNOWLEDGE of GOOD and EVIL you shall NOT EAT, for in the day that you eat of it YOU SHALL SURELY DIE.” (18) And the Lord God said, “IT IS NOT GOOD THAT MAN SHOULD BE ALONE; Still interestingly enough, God was not ready to create woman, instead we read in verse nineteen, “Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam TO SEE what he WOULD CALL THEM. And whatever Adam called each living creature THAT WAS ITS NAME. (20) So Adam gave names to ALL CATTLE, to THE BIRDS of the air, and to EVERY BEAST of the field. But for Adam THERE WAS NOT FOUND A HELPER COMPARABLE TO HIM.

Who knows how long it took Adam to name ALL of these creatures? I would imagine that it must have taken quite a while! I find it interesting that God created all of these creatures before creating Eve. I being a woman, like to think that He was perfecting creation before starting on the woman. (Smile) However, before I get too carried away I guess we should look at 1 Corinthians 11:8—For man IS NOT FROM WOMAN, but WOMAN FROM the MAN. (9) NOR WAS MAN CREATED for THE WOMAN, BUT the WOMAN FOR the MAN. (10) For this reason the woman ought to have a symbol of AUTHORITY on HER HEAD, because OF THE ANGELS. Now I have really given some thought and prayer to this, and here is what I have come up with! MY HEAD is my HUSBAND, so what symbol of authority could this be talking about? A symbol according to the dictionary means, “Something that stands for or represents an idea, quality, condition, or other abstraction: Well women are not going to like this, in this day of equality, and women’s rights etc., but here it is!

1 Peter 3:1—Likewise you wives, BE SUBMISSIVE to your OWN HUSBANDS, (ouch!) that even if some DO NOT OBEY THE WORD, they, WITHOUT A WORD, may BE WON by THE CONDUCT of THEIR WIVES, (2) when they observe YOUR CHASTE CONDUCT accompanied by fear. (3) Do not let your beauty be that outward adorning of arranging the hair, or wearing gold, or of putting on fine apparel; (4) but let it be THE HIDDEN PERSON OF THE HEART, with The incorruptible ORNAMENT of A GENTLE and QUIET SPIRIT, which is VERY PRECIOUS IN THE SIGHT OF GOD. (5) For in this manner, in former times, THE HOLY WOMEN who TRUSTED in GOD also ADORNED THEMSELVES, being SUBMISSIVE TO THEIR OWN HUSBANDS, (6) as Sarah obeyed Abraham, CALLING him LORD, whose DAUGHTERS YOU ARE if YOU DO GOOD and are not afraid with any terror. I guess man is truly to be king of his castle!

(11) Nevertheless, neither is man independent of woman, nor woman independent of the man, IN THE LORD. (12) For as the woman was FROM THE MAN even so the man also is THROUGH WOMAN; but all things are from God. (7) But WOMAN is THE GLORY of MAN. (3) But I want you to know that THE HEAD of EVERY MAN is CHRIST, (That needs to be given quite a lot of thought!) Here is a little thought! John 1:9—That was the TRUE LIGHT which gives LIGHT (understanding?) to EVERY MAN who comes into the world. Here is another thought! 1 Timothy 2:1—therefore I exhort FIRST OF ALL that supplications, prayers, INTERCESSIONS, AND GIVING OF THANKS be made FOR ALL MEN, (2) for kings and all who are in AUTHORITY, that we may lead a QUIET and PEACEABLE life in all godliness and reverence. (Could neglect of this be some of the reason we are living in such turmoil?) (3) For THIS IS GOOD and ACCEPTABLE in the sight of God our Savior, (4) who DESIRES ALL MEN TO BE SAVED and TO COME to THE KNOWLEDGE of THE TRUTH. (5) For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, (6) who gave Himself A RANSOM FOR ALL, to be testified IN DUE TIME. (Jeremiah 10: Who would not fear You, O king of the nations? FOR THIS IS YOUR RIGHTFUL DUE.)

Returning to 1 Corin. 11:3-- THE HEAD of WOMAN is MAN, and THE HEAD of CHRIST is GOD. So that leaves us women at THE BOTTOM of this TOTEM POLE! Being head of nothing! (smile)

Let’s see if we can get a little light on THE HEAD CHRIST! Ephesians 1:19—and what is THE EXCEEDING GREATNESS of HIS POWER toward us who believe, according to the WORKING of HIS MIGHTY POWER (20) which HE WORKED IN CHRIST when HE RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD and seated Him at HIS RIGHT HAND in THE HEAVENLY PLACES, (21) far ABOVE all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. (Psalm 111:6—He has declared to His people THE POWER of HIS WORKS, in GIVING them THE HERITAGE of THE NATIONS.) Returning to Ephesians 1:22--And He put ALL THINGS under His feet, and GAVE HIM to be HEAD over ALL THINGS to the church, (23) which is His body, the fullness of Him WHO FILLS ALL IN ALL. Ephesians 4:14—that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness by which they lie in wait TO DECEIVE, (15) but, speaking THE TRUTH in LOVE, may GROW UP in all things INTO HIM who IS THE HEAD---CHRIST---

You see, little Eve didn’t have THIS HEAD there to protect her against the deceitfulness of the serpent! What about Adam, he was to be HER HEAD, but what happened? 1Tim. 2:13—For Adam was formed first, then Eve. (14 And ADAM WAS NOT DECEIVED, but THE WOMAN BEING DECEIVED, fell into transgression. 2 Corin. 11:3—But I fear, lest somehow, AS THE SERPENT DECEIVED EVE by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. (4) For if he who comes preaches ANOTHER JESUS whom we have not preached, (John 17:2—As You have given Him (Jesus) authority over all flesh.) John 12:47—and if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I DO NOT JUDGE him; for I did not come to judge the world but TO SAVE the world.) or if you receive A DIFFERENT SPIRIT which you have not received, (Luke 9:51—Now it came to pass, when the time had come for Him to be received up that He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem. (52) And sent messengers before His face and as they went, they entered a village of the Samaritans, to prepare for Him. (53) But they did not receive Him, because His face was set for the journey to Jerusalem. (54) And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, DO YOU WANT TO COMMAND FIRE to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did? (55) But He turned and REBUKED them, and said, “YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT MANNER OF SPIRIT YOU ARE OF. (56) For the Son of Man did not come TO DESTROY men’s lives but to SAVE THEM.

Returning to 2 Corin. 11:4--Or a DIFFERENT GOSPEL which you have not accepted, you may will PUT UP with it. (Galatians 3:8 And THE SCRIPTURE foreseeing that God would justify the nations by faith PREACHED THE GOSPEL to Abraham BEFOREHAND saying, “In you all THE NATIONS shall BE BLESSED. (Galatians 3:29—And if you are Christ’s THEN you are Abraham’s seed, AND HEIRS according to THE PROMISE. (Romans 4:13—For THE PROMISE that he would be HEIR of THE WORLD was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of FAITH.)
Well this all certainly seems to tie together for me, which is my thesis for believing, that God did in fact SEND HIS SON not to CONDEMN the world, but to SAVE the world. (John 3:16-17)

Returning to Genesis Chapter three! We all know about God putting Adam in a deep sleep and taking one of his ribs, from which He made the woman, Eve. Now from this little rib, women have become the rib of the centuries. Being made a laughing stock and blamed with making the biggest boner (mistake) in the world. But do you want to know the biggest rib of all? It was not so much that the serpent HAD LIED to Eve, BUT that he had TRICKED HER into listening to him, instead of LISTENING TO GOD.

Let’s examine these Scriptures very closely! Genesis 3:4—and THE SERPENT SAID to the woman, “You will not surely die. (5) For God knows that in the day you eat of it, (The fruit) YOUR EYES WILL BE OPENED, and you WILL BE LIKE GOD, KNOWING GOOD and EVIL. (6) So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband WITH HER (Adam had to have been right there!) and he ate. (7) THEN THE EYES OF BOTH OF THEM WERE OPENED, (well that part was not a lie, had not the serpent said, “your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God knowing good and evil.") and they knew that they were naked; Let’s look at this in the light of Genesis 3:22—Then the Lord God said, “Behold, THE MAN HAS BECOME LIKE ONE OF US, to KNOW GOOD and EVIL.

Had not the serpent said, “Genesis 3:5—you WILL BE LIKE GOD KNOWING GOOD and EVIL? (NKJV) Oh yes, he did say that! But what they didn’t know was this…Genesis 3:7—THEN THE EYES OF BOTH OF THEM WERE OPENED and they knew that they were naked. What an expose!

Deuteronomy 32:39—NOW SEE that I even I, am He, and there is NO GOD BESIDES ME, I KILL and I MAKE ALIVE; I WOUND and I HEAL; nor is there ANY who can deliver from MY HAND. (Whoops!)

So you see it just did not matter what the serpent said then, or what he says now. GOD RULES! 1Samuel 15:1—“Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as IN OBEYING THE VOICE OF THE LORD? Behold, TO OBEY IS BETTER THAN SACRIFICE, and TO HEED than the fat of rams.

I am looking to NO OTHER GOD, but this one, "Isaiah 45:1--I am the Lord, and there is NO OTHER; (7) I FORM THE LIGHT and CREATE DARKNESS, I MAKE PEACE and CREATE CALAMITY; I the Lord, DO ALL THESE THINGS. (8) "Rain down, you heavens, from above and let the skies POUR DOWN RIGHTEOUSNESS; let the earth open, LET THEM BRING FORTH SALVATION, and LET RIGHTEOUSNESS spring up together. I, THE LORD HAVE CREATED IT. John 3:17--For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world THROUGH HIM MIGHT BE SAVED.

So when God says, “LOOK TO ME, and BE SAVED, ALL YOU ENDS OF THE EARTH! For I am God, and THERE IS NO OTHER. I for one am GOING TO LOOK TO HIM for just that. HE SAID IT and I BELIEVE IT!

1 John 5:4--For whatever is born of God OVERCOMES THE WORLD. And this IS THE VICTORY that has overcome THE WORLD---OUR FAITH.
