According to Jim Rohn, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” So, my question to you is, who are you spending time with? And why?

Choose your association carefully as they will either make you or mar you, you will always be like the people you hang around with, you will eventually resemble what you behold, therefore, if you are headed for the top it makes good sense to follow men or women who are where you want to be or headed in that direction themselves.

Choose your friends and association wisely, don’t choose based on sentiments, keep away from mediocre people (if greatness is what you seek) lest you become like them. He who walks with the wise will be certainly become wise and a companion of fools will be destroyed and this does not necessarily mean physical death but yes, the death of dreams, goals and aspirations. When Jonathan should have camped with David he chose to camp with Saul, (the king God had rejected) his decision was based on sentiments, Saul was his father, but his decision was not a very wise one and the result was he died when he should have lived.

Association is more powerful than we think, when Daniel was promoted he asked the king to promote his associates Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, they were promoted on the platform of association. When God called Abraham, Lot who travelled with him was also blessed and we know that when Lot chose to depart and camp with the people of Sodom and Gomorrah he was destroyed. Samson associated with Delilah and became a captive and a victim where he had once been a victor.
