Faith

I am a warrior.
I am strong, brave, and armed for battle.
In one hand I clasp the sword of truth, in the other the shield of honor.
The battle I am fighting will not be easily won,
for my foes are not of this world.
The battle is against evil, insolence, and sin.
I stand true and steadfast on the battle lines taking direct orders only from my God,
for He is my true strength and salvation.
Many try to sway my temperament,
offering empty promises in an attempt to dissuade the intensity with which I must continue.
Many say they are willing to join me,
but when the enemy becomes too powerful,
they often balk.
I am in pursuit of others who are as obedient;
who are as determined, committed, and filled with a tenacity that must be evident in order to prevail.
My days often grow long,
and my body is often battered and torn,
but my spirit is forever faithful and determined.
I fall from time to time,
but I rise up, get back on my horse, and continue to fight.
For I am- and always will be-
a warrior.
