Christian Living
In the Bible there are many examples of Jesus Christ and His miracles. My question is…do you believe in miracles? It doesn’t seem that in this modern day miracles are observed like in Christ’s time. But think about it; they didn’t have all the stuff we have today. The Word says, “Then Jesus said to him, unless you see signs and miracles happen, you [people] never will believe (trust, have faith) at all.” I personally believe that miracles happen all the time; we are just sooo busy with life and all the noise from our technology blocks what God is showing us.
There are those that talk about meditation. For me it is just slowing down my busyness so I can watch and listen for the miracles of God. I grew up with a Father that was very ill. We didn’t know when he would take his last breath and I would be without a father. I knew that his days were numbered, even when I was only five years old. My whole life with him was one big question mark. My father passed in 1992 and was 73 years old. He was not expected to live long enough to see his two kids grow up, or to even reach his forties. I never knew when I woke up if Dad would still be here. Every night before I went to bed, I always found him on his bed and would go in and say, “I love you, Dad.” I wanted to make sure that he knew that. The next morning the joy to my young heart, he would be there and I was so thankful that I would have him for one more day.
Even the smallest things like when I’m in traffic and I get to my destination safe and sound, talking with a friend, praying for someone’s needs and then seeing the answers to those prayers…these are all miracles. The miracle of having a roof over my head, food to eat, a life with meaning and purpose is so real. These are just a few, but the point is that miracles do happen…just look and listen. Miracles are God’s proof that He cares about me and I love Him for the reminder of who He is.
As the verse says, God’s miracles are to give my weak mind something to hold onto so that I don’t forget what God has done for me. Make a list of the miracles that you have seen. I believe in them and as I watch for them, I thank God for them.
