Your life may feel like a jungle with so many twists and turns, along with the branches and gnarled up roots that trip you with every step you take. Do you feel like you can’t go anywhere without your GPS to guide you? For many of you a GPS is such a necessary part of your daily life. I get lost so easily, even with a GPS I would still get lost or be in an accident because I’m watching the box instead of my eyes on the road. My husband and I tease that I would get lost in my own backyard if we had not lived here for so many years. He, on the other hand, has such a sense of direction, that he is his own GPS. I don’t know how he does it but he always gets us where we need to go. Here is an example…we were trying to get to a wedding in the Bay Area, we didn’t even have a map and it was pre-GPS. He kept pointing in an easterly direction and eventually we got there. I remember my dad saying that anyone should be able to follow their nose and get to their destination. My husband did exactly that, and I was so surprised when we pulled up in front of the church…only 5 minutes late.

How do you measure up when you are trying to accomplish something? God is the only absolute perfect direction finder. I know that when I get really scrambled and don’t seem to know what direction to even go, I call out for God’s direction and He comes to my rescue every time. My biggest mistake is when I think I can call on my own abilities to reach my destination. Of course, I miss the road signs and end up on the side of the road in a ditch. I cry out once again to God and He always hears me. That gives me more comfort than any GPS. I have decided since I am not good with any technology, I will call on God’s G.P.S. to direct the path for my life.

God’s path is not smooth and straight, but when you walk with your hand in His, you WILL NOT fall. His Word says, “Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow.” He is there holding you with His strong grip. Know that with God by your side you can do anything. It’s your choice. I promise you He is walking with you…just ask. My life has been so much better when I stand strong with God by my side guiding my way.
