We are never alone in our distress
not forgotten in the deepest troubles
So try and take it as it comes
in no matter how much they double

Keep a silent praise within you
wear your joy like a shining light
And know that God is working it out
and rest assure that it will be right

Abandon anger that only brings on stress
don't let your heart get weary
Release those thoughts of ever getting over
but instead let it be merry

Take God's handkerchief of love to wipe your eyes
and his pillow of strength to lay your head
Take his medicine of hope to help you to cope
and then just rest beneath his spread

For his blanket is a covering for our welfare
being a comfort that gives us peace
Just one touch of his hands clears every tear
causing the wars within to cease

He will smooth the paths of our afflictions
making straight the crooked roads
To relieve the burdens that get a little heavy
whenever we bend beneath the loads

Now take care O' hearts your in good hands
for the master surly knows his job
So just rest your minds he will be on time
and everything it will be solved
