Remember His Blood

St. Mark 14:23-24; And he took the cup and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them and they drank all of it. And he said unto them this is my blood of the New Testament which is shed for many. My thought is remember His blood.

The New Testament is also known to as the blood covenant, an agreement from God to man through Jesus Christ. Jesus paid the ransom with his blood for our sin. The bible says without the shedding of blood there can be no remission of sin.

It is not fitting that man could give his own blood because all men are stained with the death of sin. Moreover, our righteousness are as filthy rags. God who is Jesus Christ wrapped himself in the likeness of sinful flesh and came down from heaven to condemn sin in the flesh.

The blood of Christ is not just any blood, it is the blood that takes away the sin of the world, God’s blood. Personally, my blood type is AB positive, a sort of rare type. As rare as it is, it still can not cleanse me from sin.

In the old testament days, man had to bring clean animals approved of God to the priest to make atonement for his sin. When Jesus shed his blood we no longer needed to go to a priest with a sin offering. Furthermore, The Vail was torn in half allowing us to go straight to God through Jesus.

Every person on earth is blood bought. You ,I nor our children belong to the state. It doesn’t matter what documents you or your parents signed, you belong to Jesus.

All of our sin is under the blood. No weapon formed against us shall prosper because we are covered by the blood. We must remember the blood because it has truly saved us from hell.

I’m reminded of a song that we sing in church and it goes:

‘I know it was the blood, I know it was the blood’
I know it was the blood that saved me
One day when I was lost, Jesus died on the cross
I know it was the blood that saved me.

What can take away our sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. What can make us whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. Amen.
