There I was driving along and singing that chorus, “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives!” Remembering that the word “follow” also meant pursue with such speed and force as to overtake, it was reassuring to know and feel that goodness and mercy were closing in, until that still small voice reminded me, “You have to be driving the speed limit if you want to be overtaken.” “Oh yeah, Lord, good point!” And the necessary adjustment was swiftly and gratefully made.
