Marriage

Whenever we go somewhere and ride down the interstate, I see the flowers planted alongside the highway, and in the median...and they remind me of our love.

We go along with our day, and suddenly, around the next bend, there they are...a flower garden alongside the road, a welcome and lovely sight - giving the spirits an unexpected lift, and putting a bit of color and life just when it was needed.

We plant our gardens of wildflowers along our pathways...reminders to one another of our love...they may be brilliant red flowers nodding in the wind...or swathes of tiny wildflowers with their myriad colors and shapes.... but they all refresh the soul...reminding us to slow down.... to smell the flowers...to enjoy the simple joys of being together...of lingering on the journey rather than hurrying to the destination.

There are times when true love and joy are found off the beaten path.... along a small detour where the loveliest flowers grow...hidden from view until they are sought out, but, oh, when discovered, bring the greatest happiness to my heart...and Jesus has given me the most wonderful garden of all.... surrounding me with color, light and heady fragrance.... filled with new joys every day...for that is where I find you...and my joy is complete!
