IT IS NOT YOUR BURIAL YET
Soon afterward, Jesus went to a town called Nain, and his disciples and a large crowd went along with him. As he approached the town gate, a dead person was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the town was with her. When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, "Don't cry." Then he went up and touched the coffin, and those carrying it stood still. He said, "Young man, I say to you, get up!" The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother. They were all filled with awe and praised God. "A great prophet has appeared among us," they said. "God has come to help his people." This news about Jesus spread throughout Judea and the surrounding country (Luke 7: 11-17, NIV).
The young man captured from the above scripture was dead and pallbearers were carrying his corpse to the grave. The young man had given up his spirit and was certified dead. There are situations in life that might take you head on until your zeal to try is no longer available. Some will just kill your spirit and you become a dead man walking. While they were on their way to bury the young man, Jesus Christ interrupted the procession and raised the young man from the coffin; he came back to life! In Africa, Botswana in particular, we cook a lot of food at funerals for the mourners to eat after the burial. Imagine if that was the case in Nain. The food was ready and when it was served the deceased had joined the mourners to eat the food. It doesn’t matter the reason why they cooked the food. Jesus changed the gathering of mourners to a feast of celebration, celebrating the resurrection of the young man.
How many time have you been defeated and you feel your spirit is dead. It is not your burial yet. At the touch of Jesus you can come back to life. Cry to God to revive you, with God there is nothing impossible (Luke 1:37), all things are possible to him that believes (Mark 9:23), I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4: 13). God has not given up on you and you shouldn’t give up on yourself. Refuse to be buried by your current situation for it is only a matter of time and it will be over.
