Prayers

Heavenly Father,

I thank You for every precious second of each day that I am still breathing. I thank You that I can wake up every morning and be glad that I am alive and that You are always by my side! I thank You for the moments when I can work hard and make the most of nurturing all the talents and gifts You bless me with, all for Your glory. I thank You for the moments when I am enjoying the beauty of nature, and all that You have made, both large and small. I thank You also for the moments of quiet time and rest when I can enjoy a break from all of my hard work. I thank You for the moments of great challenges and troubles, because I have learnt to depend only on Your strength to help me through them. I also thank You for the hard moments when You correct me and turn me away from following my own selfish ways, even though it is very painful at the time. Most of all I thank You for all the blessed moments I enjoy together with my family and friends, and the moments I enjoy with You through prayer, singing Your praises and delving into the wonders of Your Word.
Yet I also pray that You will help me to use wisely every precious second that You give me. Teach me to commit fully to the work You have called me to do, using the gifts and talents You bless me with, and protect me from the temptations of procrastination and laziness. Remind me always that the work I do for You will never be in vain, but will hold eternal value. Teach me to give my very best effort in serving You, no matter how insignificant or difficult the task may seem. But I pray also that You would remind me to take time to rest from work and to enjoy the beauty of all You have made. When the storms of life overwhelm me, keep me focused on You and give me the strength to persevere in Your work, as I continue to trust in You to deliver me. Even when You correct me, teach me not to become disheartened or to give up, because You correct those whom You love. And as I continue to enjoy each moment with my family and friends, I pray that You would use me to testify to them of Your love, not only through what I say to them but also through all that I do. Help me to always encourage and teach others about Your truth through the time that I spend with them. Remind me always to make time for being with other people, so that I do not forget how important they are. Teach me also to make time for entering into Your presence, through communicating to You in prayer, learning from Your Word, and reflecting on it every day. Remind me always to seek Your help and guidance for every situation.

Finally I pray Father that You would help me not to waste the time You give me, but to use all of it to honour You.
