A heart to love thee more
truly as I ought,
my precious Lord Jesus
by your whispers sought.
When dead I hell-bent lived
wandering from the fold
You the faithful Shepherd
took me in your hold.
You gave me food and drink
when I came to life
You gave me peace within
took away all strife.
Now my blessed Savior
keep me in your arms
never more to wander
grasping all your charms.
