POWER OF IMAGINATION

God created man in such a wonderful and unique way that no other creation of God can be compared with him. Within man lies great power of endless possibilities and creativity, and this is why God always considers man as His bonafide partner on earth because He has placed the earthly realm under his control. When man records significant inventions or breakthroughs in science, medicine, engineering, aviation, information technology, marine or space explorations, it is never a threat to God his Creator, in fact it’s to God’s glory. There are no inventions by man, whether already known or yet to be revealed, that had not been foreknown by God the Creator of the heaven and earth. God in His infinite wisdom had actually packaged every invention that will ever be in the history of humanity, and placed them like thoughts and ideas in the mind of man.

The mind of man is an inexhaustible well of treasures. The greatest endowment from the Creator, is not the natural resources like gold, crude oil, diamond, platinum and other precious metals stored away in rocks and under the earth, it is the mind of man! It is in the mind of man every invention, development and breakthrough begins; nothing, absolutely nothing can happen until man engages his mind!

One of the great abilities God placed inside of man at creation is the power of imagination. There’s no way a man can experience development both in his life and environment without exploring and engaging his mind in productive imagination. Power of imagination was specifically placed in man to enable him further God’s works of creation on earth as originally intended. God didn’t have to directly create all things we now see around us – the aircrafts, the ships, automobiles, computers, television, radio, telephone, books etc; He simply placed the ideas and thoughts in the minds of men who were diligent enough to engage their minds in productive thinking and imagination. There’s no invention you see today that was not first a dream-every invention begins from imagination!

Imagination is one power that is within the reach of every human being irrespective of background, education or status. There’s greatness within everyone, at least to the extent of what the human mind has capacity to deliver, it’s unfortunate however that that majority are not even aware of the unlimited power lying inside of them let alone tapping it for advancement in life. Many people are grounded in life because they cannot dig up the unlimited treasures stored away in the wells of their minds.

Imagination involves creating a mental picture of a particular thing in the mind, which can subsequently lead to actualization of that particular thing if followed up with necessary steps and required commitment. Imagination plays great roles in the development of our lives’ dreams and visions. If you can’t see something with the eyes of your mind, you can never get it! If you are too lazy to think, you can hardly make progress in life! When a man creates something positive in his imagination, he has taken the first step of progress. In Genesis 11:6, even God with the following words admits that nothing can stop a man that understands how to rightly engage the creative power of imagination. ‘And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do’. The people didn’t just stumble on the project of tower of Babel, it was well imagined and thought out. Truth is, it’s impossible for a man to rise above his imaginations, you can only go as far as your imagination and dream can take you.

It’s interesting to know that in the realm of imagination, there are no boundaries or borders! The realm of imagination is the only place you possess exclusive right to travel across borders without a visa, and yet there can be no let or hindrance! No one can charge you for engaging your power of imagination, there’s no limit to what you can imagine in your mind. However, you must understand that you’re not permitted to dwell in the realm of imagination, it is an abstract world, you must take all practical steps required to concretize all the great ideas and thoughts you have created in your mind. If you can only imagine things but take no practical steps to actualize them, you’re suffering from hallucination or what is simply called day dreaming- you’re only engaged in futile exercise. Yes, you can begin the journey to greatness in the realm of imagination, but you can’t amount to anything if you’re not prepared to pay the price of actualizing your dreams.

Imagination can either be positive or negative. It’s sad that majority do not rightly engage their power of imagination. A mind that is corrupt or focused on corrupt things can never produce anything meaningful. This is why you must pursue the renewal of your mind as instructed by the scriptures. Hebrews 12:2 says ‘And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God’. Your mind is either an instrument in the hands of God or the devil, this is revealed by the kind of thoughts and imaginations you engage your mind with. It’s only a renewed mind that can produce what is acceptable and perfect in the assessment of God. As believers, our imaginations must centre on things that can delight God and bring progress to His kingdom.

It must be stated that your power of imagination can be put to work only by you and none else! Somebody else cannot assist you to engage your mind in productive thinking. The implication of this is that you’re the major factor that determines your success or failure. No matter the amount of opportunities and privileges around your life, if you fail to imagine greatness in your mind or engage your faculties in productive thinking, you can never be great! You’re the one that must initiate your greatness, nobody else can! I challenge you to kick start a profitable venture in your mind today; I challenge you to conceive an idea that can produce something that will place you ahead of the crowd. If you don’t do it, nobody will do it for you!

Are you aware that success is 75% thinking and only 25% actions? All attainments, breakthroughs, and inventions in life first begin from the mind. One way you can demonstrate the divinity inside of you is by creative thinking. 1Corithians 2:16 says ‘For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ’. If believers truly have the mind of Christ, they are supposed to be a solution, a high flyer, an answer to the world’s problems. If you exercise your mind in deep meditation in God’s word, pure and godly thoughts, your mind’s capacity to create is bound to manifest. From today learn to engage the power of imagination that God placed inside of you for creativity, there’s no height you cannot attain, live your dreams!
