THE NOTABLES AND LORD NOTABLE DAY

A notable day is an unforgettable day either of great joy or of great sorrow. When Adam an Eve were driven out of the Garden of Eden, I am sure that was a day that humanity will not forget. It was a notable day of sorrow.

Another notable day is recorded in Gen. 27:30-34, it was the day that Esau lost his birthright and his blessings simply because of food.

Another notable day is found in Exodus 15. This was the day the children of Israel crossed the Red Sea. The night before, they saw death about to swallow them but the following morning they look back and all those who wanted to destroy them were no more.

We have another notable day recorded in I Sam. 3:1-10. This was the first time that Samuel heard the voice of God. I am sure that Samuel can never forget this day. None of us who have ever heard the voice of God can forget the first time.

In Samuel 16:10-13 is another notable day. This was the day David was anointed king. He woke up as a shepherd boy but the end of the day he had become a king.

Another notable day is in 2 Kings 2:9-15. This was the day that Elisha received the double portion of the power of Elijah. It was the day that mantle fell and he picked it up. River Jordan parted this day for him. The first day God uses you to perform a miracle is also a notable day you can never forget. You can never forget the first time God answered your prayers dramatically. My wife and I waited on the Lord for 13 years before we got our baby boy in year 2002. It was a great day.

A notable day happened to Gehazi when he became the father of all lepers. A notable day happened to Nebuchadnezzar when suddenly he became an animal. It was another day when he became a human being again.

The greatest day in all our lives will be when we see the Lord Jesus Christ. The notable day of the Lord will surpass them all. When this day comes, it will affect the whole world. Revelation 1:7 says: Behold, he cometh with clouds: and every eye shall see Him, and they also which pierced Him: and all kindred of the earth shall wail because of Him. Even so, Amen.

When He shall come on that notable day, all eyes shall see Him. Some will weep and some will rejoice. On that notable day, those of us who are his own will be coming with Him. The cross of salvation will become the sword for judgment.

For most of us, the notable day of the Lord is around the corner, on that day, there will not need to pray again. Today we can still pray and ask for mercy.
