HOW YOU CAN DEAL WITH IT 2
Christ’s sacrifice at the cross is the foundation for victory in every area of life. When Jesus bore the nature of sin and its consequences, He forever provided the power to deal with every issue we would ever face in life.
The issues we contend with as humans stem from the sinful nature. When a government official embezzles public funds, he does so because he is selfish (a symptom of the sin problem).
One way we try to handle life’s challenges is to use will power. While determination is a critical factor for success in every endeavor, it is not enough. When we mark a new year, it is not unusual for people to make new year resolutions. I won’t lie again. As the days turn into months, most of the same people will go back to what they said goodbye to.
Will power can only take us so far. We need an higher power. We need a new nature. We need a Saviour. Jesus came to make us God’s Children. Like begets like. If God is perfect, then a child of God should not be ruled by evil habits. If God is not unemployed (John 5:17), then his child should not be roaming the streets jobless and frustrated. We become God’s Children by believing and confessing Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. You can do this right now by saying this prayer:
“Dear God, I believe I am a sinner. I believe Your Son, Jesus bore my sins and rose up on the third day. I confess Him as my Lord and Saviour. Fill me with Your Spirit and help me to live for you. Thank you for saving me.”
