 STAGES OF A FAITH-WALK                    

STAGE I:       FIRE INSURANCE  (Come and See)

The beginning of this stage is a time of checking out Who God is, Who Jesus is and what His life and death mean personally, then making the decision of asking Jesus to be Lord and Savior. The person is saved and will go to heaven, but there is so much more! Sadly, there are many seekers who never get to Stage II.

STAGE II:      LIFE INSURANCE   (Follow Me)

This stage is crucial in developing the spiritual life of a new believer! This is where one must learn how to trust God and live the life of a Christ Follower. Without healthy discipling and teaching most new Christians will stay in the beginning of this stage of their spiritual walk for years; however, many will not move out of this stage during their entire lifetime. They may have a sense of living the Christian life but they are still not spiritually healthy and strong in their faith.

STAGE III:    HEALTH INSURANCE  (Abide in Me)

This is where one begins to hunger for more. We move on to a deeper relationship with God. As one grows in this stage they begin to walk with God and depend on Him more deeply. Giving God our heart is a big step in the stages of our Faith Walk but in this stage we learn to also give Him our life and everything (and everyone) in it. We become spiritually healthy and our faith is strong.

STAGE IV:     401K  (Remain in Me)

No, stage 4 is not retirement. Nor has one “arrived” at this point. However, our desire is to be all that God wants us to be and do all that God wants us to do. During the beginning of this stage one will go back and forth from stages 3 and 4. He wants us to depend on Him for everything. This is the stage where we are contentedly discontent in our relationship with God. We know Him, but we want more and we want to serve Him totally and completely.  Prayerfully the goal is to stay in Stage 4 for the remaining of our time on this earth; before actually meeting our Savior face-to-face and, hopefully, one day hear, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”

It is so worth the effort to trust in Him. Don’t hold back. This is the one time it is ok to be selfish! Desire everything God has for you! No 401K can touch the benefits of following God with our whole being, because God’s benefits are out of this world!
