Sometimes God will give you a glimpse of eternity within a dream. This is what happened to me one night, back in the early 2000s. I dreamed that I was driving down this street in a crime infested neighborhood. I was ticked that the light turned red. I despised this area so much that I didn't even want to be stuck at a red light. I double checked to see if the car doors were locked.

I had to ride down this particular street during the weekdays in order to get to the train station. Although this is in a small town in the suburbs, it has a very high crime rate. You wouldn't want to walk around the town alone (day or night). Drug dealers and winos had the area on lock-down.

Commuters had no other choice, but to take this particular train into Manhattan. Otherwise, they would have to travel 30 minutes out of the way.

Anyway, within the dream, I couldn't wait until the light turned green so that I could take off as fast as possible. If it wasn't for the cars in front of me, I would have ran the red light. I could care less about getting a ticket.

Finally, when the light turned green, the area suddenly changed right before my eyes. It was so beautiful. The roads were immaculate. Broken beer bottles on the ground and garbage were replaced with beautiful flowers and trees. The old dilapidated buildings changed into brand new buildings. The architecture was indescribable.

I couldn't help myself. I stepped out and walked away from my car. I didn't care that the keys were still in the ignition and the door left wide open.

People who would normally curse and yell while walking down the street where now walking around with smiles upon their faces. Curses were replaced with:‘How are you today?” “Thank you very much!” and “Have a nice day.”

There was a run down store on the corner that you wouldn't want to be caught dead inside. The store changed into a luxury boutique. It was unbelievable.

There were crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The floors were made of some sort of marble, onyx stone. The merchandise was replaced with fine China dinnerware. It reminded me of the old Fortunoff stores of the 1980s - only more luxurious.

There was a picturesque man standing at the store entrance holding a silver tray greeting people as they came into the store. I wondered if he was a servant because he was dressed in a three piece tuxedo.

Then I saw a woman dressed in a beautiful white dress with embedded diamonds. She was setting up a crystal vase onto a glass display shelf. As I walked around, I was taken aback. Then I heard classical music playing in the background. That’s when I knew, this was a glimpse of Heaven.

I turned around and walked out of the store. As I walked back to my car, old houses in the area were replaced with mansions.

Then I woke up.

I didn't record this dream on paper at the time. However, I remember every detail as if I had the dream last night.

Why Does God Give Dreams From Heaven?

He gives us dreams from Heaven to comfort and encourage us - as well as others. It's the perfect reminder that Heaven awaits those who are prepared to go to Heaven. John 3:16 reads:

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
