God has promised us perfect peace
while in the midst of the storm
Regardless how rough the sea may rage
he tells us not to be alarm

At times when we are shifted about
and tossed from side to side
But still he allows a peaceful calm
for in us, his word we let abide

To keep us strong as we go through
it secures this old ship of Zion
That he had purchased with his blood
and won't abandon and leave behind

So while as we brave the many waves
our Savior has full control
And he will steer us safe ashore
for he's the anchor of our souls
