Now here stands life on the pitcher's plate
saying, the games on, lets start the show
Are you prepared ? You see I'm going nowhere
so share with me, in what you know

And here I stand, hearing it loud and clear
as it gets ready for it's ball to throw
But I've been here before, and had kept each score
and this is what, I did let life know

I wasn't given this life for to throw the game
and more extra innings my heart will go
Go on and throw, the ball life, I am up to bat
so now send it on, be it fast or slow

I claimed this field by faith, and determination
and my aim I chose, in how far I'll go
So take your best pitch, I will clear each plate
for I'm on top of, the plays you'll throw

I did study each base with a keen of interest
so I would know when to run or stay
First base I did learn, in how to clear second
and the third base will lead the way

So here I am, with eyes toward home base
so watch out life, I intend to win
I don't worry about those balls I've missed
long as I stay in the game to the end

My mind is wide open of the crooked curves
and do know them all by name
As you throw a little doubt, to put me out
so that I would lose this game
